I've just bought to two MIDI devices (one is a 24 key midi keyboard) the other is a jack lead that allows me to plug my guitar directly into my PC. Both of the MIDI devices connect via USB ports.
When I connect the devices via the USB ports, my PC shows that the devices are recognised and working properly however I can never get a signal from either device through my PC speakers. This leads me to think I've not set up the line in correctly on the Realtek HD Audio Manager software, that came with my soundcard, but I really don't know how to go about correcting this.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Just to be clear, MIDI is not sound and cannot transmit sound. If MIDI information is sent to a computer, then you need software to receive the MIDI information and trigger sound. This applies to the keyboard, but I'm not sure what you mean by MIDI device for your guitar. A guitar signal can't travel down a MIDI cable, so perhaps the device you are using would be helpful and if it is a regular guitar or a MIDI guitar. Keep in mind that using the onboard sound card will create latency, so when you play a key, there will be a delay from when you press the note to when you actually hear sound because of Microsoft's soundcards. I advise getting an audio interface that supports ASIO because they will usually have a guitar input and it will bypass the sound card on your computer so the MIDI keyboard plays the sound immediately and without delay.
