bass guitar question?
I am playing bass guitar in our church band, and I want to run my bass straight through the PA. It's a huge PA with lots of power so that shouldn't be an issue. My question is what is the best/cheapest way to run the bass through the PA? Do I have to use a driver? Do they make instrument cables with a TRS on one end to plug into the bass and a male XLR on the other end to plug into the jack? Thanks.
yes you can run direct. i would suggest a pre amp or EQ, pedal in between. and you MUST be careful which settings you use. its VERY easy to pop the horns in a PA running a BASS direct. so run thin and tight, w/ an EQ (IMHO)
i have been doing exactly this for some twenty years now. works fine. NO you DONT get the same feel from the bass that you would from having an AMP. but, it'll work just fine. GL
The power conditioners are one of one of the most important devices applied within the recording set to reduce the noise level and supply an uninterrupted source of power. These devices not only reduce the noise on the floor but also improve the range and clarity of the sound. The signal processors reduce the buzzing and humming sound caused due to current low in the power supply sources during the recording. They take care of sensitive signals and filter the radiation and sound. There's no substitute for good quality recording equipment just like the Xlr Male Xlr you might see on this page.
Do you need Pro Tools compatibility? Pro Tools is widely regarded as the industry standard in music recording software, and not quite a lot of interfaces are compatible with Pro Tools. You'll want to look into M-Audio's M-Powered line of interfaces like the M-box, Quickly Track Pro, or Mobile Pre. These also commonly come bundled with a stripped-down version of Pro Tools including Pro Tools SE. Let me state here, however, that Pro Tools is definitely NOT mandatory, even if it's regarded as the industry standard. Should you aren't preparing to have multiple studios working on your projects, all with their own set-ups, then compatibility isn't an issue. Your audio interface, in whatever form, is essential for recording your audio tracks. You'll find a range of audio interfaces of all sizes so you could record from single tracks to full orchestras! As we usually say at Household Brew Audio, let you needs drive your gear purchasing decisions. Whatever your wants are there is an audio interface out there to meet them.
